Isolate harmonics before they can destroy your engine.

If your engine build is plagued with broken crankshafts and oil pumps, the cause may be a mystery to you as it has been to many. Controlling the harmonic resonance of the BMW 6 is highly important as RPMs rise, but the ideal configuration of the inline-6 motor makes even experienced engine builders overlook some fundamental principals of engine harmonics that can be destructive.

The truth is, harmonics can destroy these motors despite their ideal balance.
ATI Performance Products, a leader in Harmonic Dampers has developed two new dampers (Part # 917994 & 917994TR) for the popular S54 & S50b32 Euro, as well as the 3 liter S50b30 Euro.

These dampers are made available exclusively through VAC, and they nearly eliminate all unstable crankshaft harmonic-vibration, allowing the engine to produce more horsepower and torque, maintain reliability, and reducing internal engine wear at the same time.

A trigger wheel comes standard on M3 Damper (Part # 917994TR) needed for M3 euro engines.

When used with the included pulley, they allow a direct replacement fit over the OEM balancer. Available in underdriven , overdriven or standard diameters . Also, configurations available for use with our dry sump kits. Both dampers have a 7" outer diameter and include OEM style timing alignment tabs.

These are NOT an underdrive pulley but rather a light weight version of thE OEM crankshaft pulley/ harmonic balancer, the advantages are typically :

- weighing approximately 20% less tha factory
- increasing throttle response and power
- does not separate / fail the way the factory pulleys are known to do, especially under hard use

Constructed with hard anodized 7075-T6 aluminium or tempered steel, depending which engine application.

ABOUT POWER PULLEYS

By gearing down the fluid resistance accessories (water pump, power steering), less engine power is diverted to spinning the pumps, thereby allowing your engine to spool up more quickly and produce more overall power.

Kit includes replacement water pump pulley, power steering pump pulley and new serpentine belt.

No detrimental effect whatsoever to your car's cooling and steering system, as by about 5000 revs the pumps are already working at their maximum capacities.

Whereas some other aftermarket pulley kits also include a replacement alternator pulley, we do not subscribe to this method of reduction. By reducing the alternator's ability to provide adequate voltage to the system, you may encounter electrical issues or system shortfalls not covered by the manufactures warranty.

On most modern BMWs, the crank pulley does more than just drive the accessories (water pump, A/C compressor, power steering pump, and alternator), it acts as a harmonic balancer for the crankshaft of the motor. When you remove this weighted, balanced component from the front of the motor and replace with a lightened, underdriven crank pulley, you can accelerate internal engine component wear since the crank is no longer weighted on this end.

Some companies offer just a crank pulley, which when underdriven, will then underdrive ALL of the associated accessories. This can lead to serious engine damage.

Each Rogue Engineering Power Pulley kit comes complete with installation manual and high quality replacement serpentine belt.

Application Notes

1. E36 328 models require last 7 digits of VIN in order to supply the correct power steering pulley. Include VIN with your order please.

2.Any power pulley kit which does include a replacement crankshaft pulley allow for the factory harmonic balancer to remain in place.

3.E39 M5 tensioner pulley requires minor modification of the factory tensioner bracket for installation. E39 M5 pulley kit also includes replacement A/C belt.

4.E60 M5/E63 M6 includes overdriven alternator pulley, which compensates for the underdriven crank pulley.

5.E46 M3 RACE pulley kit includes underdriven alternator and crank pulley. This pulley kit is STRICTLY for dedicated track/race cars (not cars that see street duty). A/C is no longer used. This is the same kit used on the Grand-Am Automatic Racing M3s. The crank pulley has been designed to accept a dry-sump cog. The STREET and RACE kit use the same size belt.
