LOWERING SPRINGS DETAILS

COILOVER DETAILS
The Intrax ARC® system is a very good and unique system. This system must be seen as the icing on the cake of an already excellent shock absorber system. The Black Titan coating not only makes the shocks perform better (less stick slip and friction) but also offers additional protection of the shock (the Black Titan coating is much harder than the already high quality chrome coating we heve)
- 1K2 system, adjustable in height and damping.
Intrax chooses one knob for the damping adjustment. With this one knob you can set different damping settings. When you adjust the knob, both rebound and compression will be adjusted to the correct damping forces. This unique system makes it very easy and quick to find the correct setup for your driving style and road conditions. Finally the damping system is equipped with a
heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.
For the front we have an 45mm upside-down shock absorber. This combination gives a lot of extra installation stiffness (less flex) in the Mac Pherson suspension. This not only improves road holding but also adds lots of chassis "feel" for he driver.
For the rear this kit uses a 46mm damper.
4-Way Coilover system
The 4-way is our top product. The damper is adjustable for low and high speed compression, rebound and the overall range of the low-speed compression; these adjustments can all be done separately and have no interference with each other what so ever, making fine tuning easy.
This damping system is also equipped with a
heat device (thermostat) to insure damping force stability and optimum performance during all different operation temperatures.
The rear uses a 46mm damper.
1 K2 and 4-Way XL (needs adjusted upright)
Intrax also offer the Xl version of the 1K2 and 4-Way dampers, these have a 62mm housings with 52mm insert. The XL version are always equipped with our black-titan coating. The extra thickness of the insert and the housing in combination with the upside down configuration gives an even higher installation stiffness than the 45mm Intrax standard thickness. Because of this extra installation stiffness this option is only functional with a Mac Pherson suspension at the rear axle, and is the same as the normal 4-Way system.
CAMBERPLATES
All front shocks are standard equipped with 12mm aluminium camberplates, which (compared to the original rubber topmounts which can allow a lot of unwanted movement) will greatly improve ride handling because of the extra control over the damping and steering. The plates allow stepless adjustment in t caster and camber . The bearing is enclosed in a stainlesssteel holder. The aluminium plate is made from "aircraft-Quality" material "7075".
-OPTIONS
- Black Titan Coating
The shock absorber set can be equipped with the “Black Titan” coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod. Black Titan is an development from military aircraft industry. Their engines must perform under the toughest conditions, they must function from +40°C up to -30°C. After they fitted their engines with Black Titan, the service interval was increased by 100%. Intrax decided that what is good for their airplane engines must be good for our shock absorbers. The Black Titan coating, which will be applied on the guidance- and piston rod, cannot rust and is extreme hard and smooth. The friction is lowered with these piston rods, reducing oil temperatures, improving traction and extending life time under the severest conditions.
- ARC (Anti Roll Control)®
After years of development Intrax did it. They developed a unique way to drastically reduce unwanted roll (lateral and longitudinal). Your car will have the comfort and all the other benefits of driving with “soft” springs like extra grip and traction, until you take a corner or need to brake then ARC® will control ride height with the feel of a sport/race/rally setup. While driving over a curb, through a putt hole or over jumps the suspension will absorb them like driving with soft springs. At the same time ARC® will make sure that your suspension will roll or pitch minimally. So for the first time you can have the benefits of a soft spring set up without the disadvantages of too much body roll and/or collapsing suspension in putt holes, jumps, curbs.
-Weldingplates
We also have welding-plates which you can weld in the domes of the vehicle.
You have then to cut off the original domes and replace it by the thicker (5mm thick) welding plates. Because these plates are flat, you get more adjustment range for the camber and caster. Also, the car is a lot stronger and prevents the domes from tearing.
- Springrate adjuster (only for race cars) (not for the XL system)
Also we can optionally equip a spring rate adjuster for the front and the rear. The choice for hard or soft springs is an important setting. This stiffness is defined as the spring rate. Intrax now delivers a spring rate adjuster that solves the problem of have to change the springs to change the stiffness, and enables an optimum setting under all conditions, reducing setup time and purchase costs. By sliding the spring further into the spring rate adjuster, a part of the windings is excluded of the spring action and the spring becomes stiffer.
